Investing on a beautiful garden is
perhaps a decision that not all people would want to embark on. For one, it is
not a guarantee that the plants in the garden would grow beautifully as you
envision them to be. For some reasons, they may die even just a few days after
they are planted. Or they may grow irregularly and indiscriminately that
pruning or trimming may be difficult to do.
But whatever is your reason for not
taking on the risk of investing on a beautiful garden, it is worthy to note
that having a beautifully landscaped garden adds to the overall look of your
home. And it’s the first one that your neighbours and friends notice when
passing by your house. Surely, they would compliment you for maintaining a
beautiful garden.
Though having a beautiful garden is a
sight to behold, maintaining it is not easy as it requires time, effort and a
lot of commitment. You also need to invest on tools needed to maintain your
garden such as pruners.
Pruners are scissors used to prune, or trim, plants. Pruners are used to cut the stem or branches of shrubs, trees or even roses.Different kinds of pruners are used in different types of plants. They vary in sizes, features, ease of use and cutting process.
Hand pruners are specifically used for cutting stems and branches up to one-inch thick. There are also pruners suited for light work with softgrip handles. When buying hand pruners, make sure to select one that perfectly fits into your hands and is comfortable to use. There are brands of hand pruners that make cutting at least three times easier so you might want to invest on this type of pruners.
There are also bypass trimmers that cut stems or branches similar to how a pair of scissor works. Its sharpened blade slides past a flat and unsharpened hook. This is especially useful in cutting the woody stems of roses, trees and shrubs.
Also
available are the Anvil-type trimmers
which has sharp blades and a fixed, non-cutting surface called the
"anvil." The stem is cut when it is squeezed in between the blade and
the anvil. These types of pruners
are suited for trimming small stems. Just make sure the anvil is sharp since it
tends to crush the stems if it is not.
For
those who have joint problems like arthritis, choose the ratchet or gear-type pruners since this works similar to a
car jack that multiplies hand strength thereby making your trimming job much easier.
