A freshman is adapting to being away from home and being responsible
for themselves. Initially, it may be overwhelming to try to balance this
new freedom with classes, homework and social opportunities — to say
nothing of a job.
Summer jobs are an option — spending money for the year can be earned during the summer.
Part-time campus jobs during the school year usually limit the work
schedule to 15 hours per week. Off-campus employers often make
accommodations for a student’s class schedule.
If spending money is earned by the student, they have a higher
respect for its value. Eating out and drinking gourmet coffee can
quickly add up. A fancy drink from Starbucks® every day can work out to
$120 a month — well over $1,000 per school year. For more info, please visit http://collegeworks101.com
