During the process, the couple being mediated works on the details and then takes to their home country, everything including paper works, files and its all done. Here the mediator does not provide medical advise. If a legal question arises, a lawyer in this situation is contacted for clarification. If an accounting question also arises, a CPA or an accountant is also called to give advise and opinion on the matter. 

Many lawyers do not understand the expatriate lifestyle.  When there are multiple countries, it gets even more complicated.  Some lawyers actually use mediators for settling divorces they are handling.
