There is an orientation program for both you and your student. This is a great way to learn the campus and all the facilities.
Help them settle into their new living space. This will be their new home. When their space is settled, they will feel more settled.
Something familiar from home is always soothing. Bring a pillow,
posters — whatever helps your student feel anchored.
There is minimal storage space in dorms, so you may need to take some things back home. Help them get organized.
Explore where specific places are located. Your student will need a pharmacy, a grocery store, the bookstore, the cafeteria…
Locate a convenient computer store that can service your student’s computer under their current maintenance agreement.
Your student should be familiar with their cell phone company and what their phone contract covers.
