American Exchange Student Appeals For Support of His Indie Film

An American exchange student who is currently enrolled at a university in Beijing is looking for crowd funding sources to fulfill his dream of producing an independent documentary of an exchange student in China.

The upcoming movie will be lead by Michael himself according to Agata Fornasari, also one of the lead stars of “The Exchange Student.” The said independent film is currently filming in Beijing and other places in China.

“I’m Michael Baptiste and it’s my great dream to release an independent film about my actual life as a student in Beijing University. I come from a university in Florida but my passion to travel abroad ignited me to start this mission of producing my very first independent film.” The reason I’m writing you this letter is to ask you for your support in this massive moment that is in the works.

You see, I’ve been studying as a college student for several years – and during my studies it was always my dream to travel to another country to see what life was like there.

I even got depressed and had to see the school therapist to confess that I was down about not being able to travel the world – true story!

Then one day an idea hit me, and I decided to risk everything and come to China to study abroad for four months. After I made a decision to come abroad it was a roller coaster journey that I began to record and capture with my iPhone 4. I went through emotional pitfalls, I hit emotional peaks, and I even had to raise more than $10,000 through scholarships and support just to get here.

Fornasari said it was really a dream come true for Michael who is willing to risk everything to fulfill his dream of going to China as an international exchange student.

“I’m sure many students will enjoy watching as well as people in the academe as this documentary film is all about the life of students who went to other countries to study and discover the different cultures,” Fornasari said
