What is Sexting?

Here comes another term: Sexting.  This refers to teens sending nude or suggestive photos over their mobile phones, usually of themselves, to their friends.  Never do they think, this probably is not a good idea now but as adults we know that these photos can affect their future.
We did stupid things when we were teenagers but we were not faced with this level of technology which sends information around the world in seconds.  We were passing hand written notes which could be torn up or swallowed if necessary.
Mobile phones with cameras combined with social networking can mean disaster.  Once a picture is online or on a phone, you lose total control to retrieve them or delete them.  This is scary.  Can you believe the statistics indicate one in five teenagers have posted or sent a nude or semi nude picture of themselves online?  39% have sent sexually explicit messages.  This is according to the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy.
So the bottom line is there is no such thing a safe sexting…  Pass this on.  Save your child or any child the public humiliation or even worse – dangerous consequences.
